About the Artist

Lynn Murray is a long-time plein air and still life artist with roots in the Cape Ann, Massachusetts area.  She recently made the big leap to living out West and now resides in Santa Fe, New Mexico.  She is excited about the new directions that her art will take as she absorbs the diverse cultures, learns more about the high desert, and spends time with horses.  Murray loves  the beauty and haunting nature of old structures and time-worn vehicles.  She seeks to capture the essence of a scene and to convey the emotion within.

Lynn was featured in the exhibit “Recuerdos de Cuba” at the Museum School in Boston following a trip to Cuba sponsored by the school. She was a member of the Central Street Gallery in Manchester by the Sea, Massachusetts for eight years. Murray is now a member of the Plein Air Painters of New Mexico, Plein Air Painters of Colorado, the New Mexico Art League, and the American Impressionist Society.
